Delhi Jal Board Urges Online Bill Payments

As Delhi prepares for an intense summer, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has urged residents to pay their water bills on time to avoid disruptions in service.

The DJB has announced disconnection drives targeting unpaid accounts, making timely payment critical for uninterrupted supply. To streamline the process, DJB has enhanced its Revenue Management System (RMS) portal, enabling easy digital access to bill details and secure online payment. Consumers can visit the official DJB RMS portal, enter their 10-digit K Number (KNO), and choose from various payment methods including credit/debit cards, net banking, UPI, wallets, and the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). In addition to the official portal, third-party platforms such as Paytm, Freecharge, MobiKwik, and the Airtel Thanks app also offer bill payment options. Users can enter their KNO or consumer number to access their bills and complete transactions, with some platforms offering cashback or promotional discounts.

For residents preferring direct bank transfers, the DJB has provided NEFT and RTGS payment details. Payments can be made using a virtual account number in the format “VDJBXXXXXXXXXX” (with the Xs replaced by the consumer’s KNO). The beneficiary account is with Axis Bank Ltd., IFSC Code UTIB0CCH274. Consumers can also use the portal to download and print their bill. In case the KNO is unknown, users can retrieve it using the “Know Your KNO” feature by providing details such as zone, area, and water connection number. The DJB has warned that water services may be cut off for households with outstanding bills as part of a citywide summer enforcement initiative. The advisory comes amid rising temperatures and increased demand for water, especially in areas with limited supply.

Residents are advised to pay bills promptly and retain digital receipts as proof of payment. The drive underscores the importance of responsible usage and timely settlement of dues during a season of heightened water scarcity.
