Cyberabad Municipal Works Worth Rs.4.95 Crore Get Deadline Push

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Srujana has inspected seven civic works worth Rs.4.95 crore across Ameenpur Circle and Serilingampally Zone and directed officials to complete them ahead of schedule, bringing drainage, roads, pedestrian infrastructure and a community facility under closer field-level monitoring.

The works include the Mahila Bhavana Community Hall at Kakatiya Nagar, storm water drains in the BHEL Metro area and along the Narendra Colony–Durga Province stretch, and cement concrete roads in Beeramguda and Sri Vani Nagar. Footpath and central median works are also under way on the Sunway Opus–Chetan Anand Badminton Academy Road.

The inspection covered projects addressing several everyday gaps in the fast-growing western Hyderabad region. Storm water drainage is being developed at two locations, while CC roads are being constructed in residential areas. The footpath and median works on the Sunway Opus–Chetan Anand Badminton Academy Road are focused on the road corridor’s pedestrian and traffic environment.

During the visit, Srujana interacted with local residents and representatives of resident welfare associations to discuss the ongoing works and their specific requirements in the affected areas. The engagement placed local concerns alongside the physical review of the projects, although the report did not specify the individual demands raised by residents or any changes made to the approved works.

The commissioner instructed municipal officials to complete the projects ahead of schedule. She also directed them to conduct regular field inspections to monitor progress and address delays. The instructions indicate that implementation oversight will continue at the work sites rather than rely only on periodic administrative reviews.

The combined value of the seven works is Rs.4.95 crore, but the municipal report did not provide project-wise cost estimates, contractor names, tender details or individual completion deadlines. It also did not state the current percentage of progress on each work or specify whether any of the projects had already missed an earlier schedule.

The works span community infrastructure, drainage, road construction and streetscape improvements. Their delivery will depend on coordinated site supervision across Ameenpur Circle and Serilingampally Zone, particularly where drainage, roads, footpaths and central medians affect the same neighbourhood-level movement network.

For residents, the next publicly stated milestone is the completion of the projects ahead of schedule. Regular field inspections and action to address delays are the measures announced by the commissioner for tracking implementation.
