Cyberabad Mobility Roadmap Targets Four IT Corridor Bottlenecks

Cyberabad authorities have launched a data-backed mobility roadmap to address traffic congestion in Hyderabad’s IT corridor, with a proposed continuous one-way loop between Hi-Tech City and the Biodiversity stretch emerging as the plan’s immediate intervention.

The roadmap was jointly released on Friday by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), Cyberabad Traffic Police, the Society for Cyberabad Security Council, TGSRTC and other government agencies. The initiative, titled ‘Cyberabad Moves 2026’, is intended to coordinate transport planning across the agencies responsible for roads, traffic management, public transport and corridor operations.

The proposed one-way loop would cover the Hi-Tech City-Biodiversity belt and is designed to eliminate four major bottleneck junctions, according to Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M Ramesh. Under the proposal, the entire width of existing roads would be converted into a single-direction transit channel.

“The immediate roadmap centres on a proposed continuous One-Way Loop system to eliminate four major bottleneck junctions along the HiTech City-Biodiversity belt,” Ramesh said, according to Telangana Today. He added that all key government agencies were studying the proposal and that implementation would be announced officially after the review.

The announcement does not yet constitute a confirmed implementation schedule. Authorities have released the mobility roadmap and begun inter-agency planning, but the one-way loop remains a proposal under consideration. Details such as the final road configuration, traffic diversions, construction or modification requirements, public transport operations and the date of implementation were not provided in the report.

The collaborative framework is being chaired by Ramesh and CMC Commissioner G Srijana. Its stated objectives include overhauling junction designs, improving last-mile connectivity and integrating different modes of transport across the IT hub. The participation of TGSRTC places bus operations within the coordination process, although the roadmap’s report does not specify any immediate changes to routes, stops or services.

The plan comes as authorities focus on the transport pressures created by the concentration of workplaces and daily movement in Cyberabad’s IT corridor. The proposed loop is intended to address congestion at four identified junctions by changing the direction in which traffic uses existing road space. Its effect on commuters will depend on the final design and on how access to offices, public transport stops and adjoining roads is managed.

Cyberabad authorities are also organising a three-day conference at the IT Hub from November 26 to 28. Transport experts from across the world have been invited to participate. The conference is expected to form part of the broader effort to examine mobility interventions and coordination in the corridor.

The roadmap’s next formal milestone is the completion of the inter-agency study of the continuous one-way loop. Authorities are expected to announce implementation details officially after that process, while the November conference will bring transport experts and participating agencies together at the IT Hub.
