A coordinated workforce comprising track maintainers, electrical technicians, signalling personnel, welders and machine operators works around the clock in rotating shifts. These teams inspect rails, replace worn components and modernise critical infrastructure supporting train movement. The approach reflects the increasing shift towards predictive and technology-driven maintenance practices across India’s railway system. Mechanised equipment such as ballast cleaning systems, tamping machines and specialised track renewal units are being deployed to improve efficiency and minimise manual intervention.
