Chennai power shutdowns are scheduled across parts of Porur, Tiruverkadu, Perumbakkam, Tambaram, Pallavaram and Avadi on October 13, with electricity supply expected to be suspended from 9 am to 2 pm for maintenance work, according to DT Next.
Supply will be restored before 2 pm if the scheduled work is completed early. The affected areas include residential neighbourhoods, roads, schools, hospitals, commercial properties and institutional zones across the city’s western, southern and southwestern suburbs.
In Porur, the listed locations include Sirukalathur, Kelithpettai, Nandambakkam, Periyar Nagar, Anjugambakkam, Malayambakkam, Kundrathur, Bazaar Street, Metha Nagar, Mananchery and G Square. Tiruverkadu areas named in the notice include Koladi, Parthipattu, Velappanchavadi, Saveetha College, Madharvedu, Cooperative Nagar, Noombal Road, Puliambedu, the Poonamallee–Hosur Road stretch and surrounding neighbourhoods.
The shutdown will also affect parts of Perumbakkam, including Global Hospital, NPS School, Indirapriyadharshini Nagar, VGP Prabhu Nagar, Erikkarai Road, Casagrand, Isha Signature Villa, Ottiyampakkam Main Road, Sankarapuram, Nagalakshmi Nagar and nearby residential areas.
In Tambaram, the affected locations include Perungalathur, Mudichur, Chitlapakkam, Madambakkam, Rajaji Nagar, Ambedkar Street, RP Road and surrounding streets. A separate set of Tambaram locations includes the Kadapperi MEPZ area, Moulana Nagar, Thiruneermalai Main Road, part of GST Road, Mudichur Service Road, the Market Area, Corporation Office, Judge Colony, Kamakoti Nagar and Gandhi Road.
The notice also lists Lakshmi Nagar, Kannan Nagar, Station Border Road, Joseph Colony, Sanjai Gandhi Nagar, Joy Nagar, BSR Flats, Srinivasapuram, Santhi Nagar and Vaishnav College Road in Pallavaram. In Avadi, Santhipuram, Manikannadapuram and parts of CTH Road are included.
Residents and establishments in the listed areas should plan for the scheduled interruption between 9 am and 2 pm. Electricity supply is expected to resume earlier if the maintenance work is completed before the stated time.
