Central Railway Announces Service Disruptions on 12th January
In a move aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure, Central Railway has announced a temporary suspension of local train services between Badlapur and Khopoli on 12th January 2025. This disruption will occur due to a special traffic block for ongoing yard improvements at Karjat station, part of the larger infrastructural overhaul intended to bolster the network’s efficiency.
The block, scheduled between 1:50 pm and 3:35 pm, will affect the up, down, and middle tracks between Palasdhari and Bhivpuri Road stations. As a result, all local train services operating between Badlapur and Khopoli will be halted during this period. This suspension is part of a series of adjustments to train schedules by Central Railway to ensure minimal disruption to the larger network. Notably, key services will be diverted or terminated ahead of the scheduled block. The CSMT-Khopoli local train, which usually departs at 12:20 pm, will be terminated at Ambernath, as will the CSMT-Karjat local train scheduled at 1:19 pm. The train departing from CSMT at 1:40 pm towards Karjat will be curtailed at Badlapur.VAdditionally, both the Karjat-CSMT local train at 1:55 pm and the Khopoli-CSMT local at 1:48 pm will begin their journeys from Ambernath.
After the completion of the traffic block, services will resume, with the Karjat-CSMT local train restarting its journey from Badlapur at 3:26 pm. For long-distance travellers, Train No. 22194 Gwalior-Daund Express will be temporarily halted at Chowk station from 2:50 pm to 3:35 pm, as part of the planned disruptions.This series of changes is aimed at reducing the strain on the local infrastructure while implementing essential improvements that are expected to have long-term benefits for the railway network. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and keep an eye on official updates from Central Railway to avoid any inconvenience. The service interruptions, while temporarily inconvenient, are essential to improving the overall capacity and reliability of the rail network.
