Bihar Diaspora Investment Gets Two New Portals for 2027 Meet

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has launched two digital portals to connect the state’s diaspora with its development activities and attract investment ahead of the Bihar Business Connect-2027 global investors’ meet. The portals were unveiled during the Bihar Foundation’s ‘Samvad’ programme, which brought together representatives of all 55 national and international chapters through video conferencing.

The Bihar Foundation Portal is intended to provide a structured digital link between people of Bihari origin and the state. According to the report, it will include online registration, an integrated database and information about chapter activities. Representatives will also be able to upload details and photographs of programmes conducted through the network.

The second platform, the Bihar Business Connect-2027 Portal, will focus on participation in the upcoming investors’ meet. It will allow users to register, receive event updates and access information about investment and industrial opportunities in Bihar.

The two portals place the Bihar Foundation’s existing network at the centre of the state government’s outreach and investment strategy. The organisation currently has 55 active chapters, comprising 31 international and 24 national chapters. The government plans to expand the network to 100 chapters by the end of the next financial year.

The state also plans to establish 10 integrated centres across the country. These centres are intended to promote investment, business and tourism activities, adding a physical institutional layer to the digital engagement being developed through the new portals.

The launch programme included Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, industries minister Shreyasi Singh and other officials. Industries department secretary-cum-Bihar Foundation chief executive officer Kundan Kumar conducted the proceedings.

Addressing the programme, Choudhary said the government wanted to connect people of Bihari origin with their roots and encourage them to contribute their experience, knowledge and resources to the state’s development. He said the diaspora could help strengthen Bihar’s economy and attract investment.

The initiative combines three functions that are often handled separately by state governments: maintaining a diaspora database, coordinating overseas and domestic chapters, and presenting investment opportunities to prospective participants. The government’s stated plan is to use the Bihar Foundation’s wider network to support business, investment and tourism outreach.

The portals also create a central channel for information ahead of Business Connect-2027, although the report does not specify the investment sectors, project pipeline, financial commitments or implementation timeline for individual opportunities. The next stated expansion milestones are the creation of additional Bihar Foundation chapters and the establishment of 10 integrated centres across the country.
