Bengaluru power cut updates issued by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) will affect more than 50 localities on October 31 as maintenance work is carried out at the Banashankari and Subramanyapura substations. The outages are scheduled in two separate time windows, covering parts of south Bengaluru.
According to information issued by BESCOM and reported by Vijay Karnataka, areas linked to the Banashankari substation will experience an interruption from 10 am to 1 pm. The second interruption, connected to maintenance at the Subramanyapura substation, is scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The first maintenance window will affect Katriguppe, Katriguppe Water Tank, Seetha Circle, Bank Colony, Balaji Layout, IT Layout, Dwaraka Nagar, Veerabhadra Nagar, Girinagar, VHBC Layout in Girinagar, Katriguppe Main Road and surrounding areas near the Uttarahalli bus stand. Church Road, Shanti Niketan School, Hemavathi Water Supply Road, Gundu Muneshwara Temple Road, Raj Gardenia, Paduka Mandir Road, JHBC Layout, M S Krishna Mill, Nagappa Layout and nearby roads are also included in the notified areas.
Other locations listed for the Banashankari-related outage include Mall Factory Road, Hindustan Granite Road, Agarbatti Factory Road, Krishnappa Layout, Maruthi Layout, Vitthal Nagar and Samruddhi Layout. The notification also includes the Katriguppe area and nearby residential layouts covered by the substation maintenance work.
The Subramanyapura maintenance window from 2 pm to 5 pm will affect Kumaraswamy Layout, Yadalam Nagar, Vasanthapura Slum, Kanaka Layout, Marasandra, Ramachandrappa Layout, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar KSDIB Quarters, Gubbala, Spring Layout, Swami Palya Road and parts of Uttarahalli. Areas around the Pratyangira Temple, BHCS Layout, Manjunath Nagar, Canara Bank Colony, Sapthagiri Layout, BIPS School and Gowdanapalya are also listed.
Prestige Lake Ridge and surrounding areas have been included in the Subramanyapura-related outage notice. The listed locations cover residential layouts, main roads, schools, public-service areas and neighbourhood roads, meaning the interruption may affect households, businesses and local activities during both maintenance periods.
BESCOM has asked members of the public to cooperate while the work is carried out. The notice does not provide a separate restoration time beyond the scheduled maintenance windows. Residents and establishments in the listed areas will therefore need to plan for the interruption between 10 am and 1 pm or between 2 pm and 5 pm, depending on the substation serving their locality.
