AINU’s Odisha Expansion Brings ₹100 Crore Push for Specialist Care

Asia Healthcare Holdings (AHH) has committed ₹100 crore to the AINU Odisha expansion, including a new Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology hospital in Bhubaneswar, taking its cumulative investment in the specialty hospital chain to ₹750 crore.

The Bhubaneswar facility is AINU’s eighth hospital in India and marks the chain’s entry into Odisha. The expansion adds specialised healthcare infrastructure in the eastern Indian state, with services focused on nephrology, urology, uro-oncology, kidney transplantation, dialysis, paediatric urology, andrology and reconstructive urology.

According to AHH, the hospital has a 12-station haemodialysis unit, three dedicated operation theatres, advanced laser systems, 3D laparoscopy, an in-house 32-slice CT scanner and video urodynamics. The facility is also part of the group’s planned increase in clinical capacity and technology across its hospital network.

AHH Executive Director Vishal Bali said the group had added 300 beds, enhanced robotic technology and strengthened clinical talent following its acquisition of AINU. The company did not provide a separate breakdown of how the ₹100 crore commitment would be allocated between the Bhubaneswar facility, capacity expansion, clinical recruitment and technology.

The investment forms part of AHH’s strategy to strengthen its presence in eastern India. AINU’s specialised service mix places the Bhubaneswar hospital within a segment of healthcare infrastructure that requires operating theatres, diagnostic systems, dialysis capacity and trained clinical teams to function as an integrated service rather than as a single outpatient facility.

The announcement also sets out a broader network target. AHH said it is on track to close FY27 with 10 hospitals, supported by investments in capacity expansion, clinical talent and robotic surgery capabilities. The company did not specify the locations of the two additional hospitals or provide a detailed construction and commissioning schedule.

For Bhubaneswar, the facility represents an expansion of the city’s specialised hospital capacity, particularly in renal and urological care. The available announcement does not state the hospital’s total bed count, expected patient volumes, pricing structure or staffing levels. It also does not indicate whether the facility will be linked to any public health programme or insurance arrangement.

AHH said the expansion would strengthen AINU’s reach across the country. The next milestones identified by the company are the continued development of its hospital network, additional capacity creation and the planned move towards a 10-hospital network by the end of FY27.
