Ahmedabad is scheduled to see the inauguration and foundation-laying of development works estimated at ₹1,024 crore, along with a draw for 900 housing units, during a series of programmes on November 9, according to details reported by Sandesh – Ahmedabad.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister and Gandhinagar MP Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the programmes. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot are also expected to be present, along with state ministers, MPs, MLAs and local elected representatives.
The events have been organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. The programme includes the inauguration and foundation ceremonies for several civic and urban development works, as well as the housing draw under an accommodation scheme.
The first scheduled events are planned from 10:30 am at different locations. These include a newly constructed flyover in the Daskroi-Sanand area, a newly constructed notified hub in Jodhpur and a newly constructed urban health centre in Gota. The respective programmes are scheduled for 10:30 am, 10:50 am and 11:15 am.
The housing draw is scheduled for 11:35 am at Urban Park, Sector 1, in the Ramapir Tekra area of Vejalpur. The programme concerns 900 homes associated with the Ramapir Tekra area under the Sardar Patel Stadium ward, according to the invitation details cited in the report.
The housing draw places an immediate beneficiary-selection process alongside the wider infrastructure programme. However, the available announcement does not specify the number of applicants, the eligibility criteria, the tenure or pricing structure of the homes, or the expected handover schedule. Those details will determine how the draw translates into actual housing access for applicants.
The infrastructure schedule also spans different parts of the city and includes transport, civic services and public health facilities. The flyover is linked to the Daskroi-Sanand area, while the notified hub is in Jodhpur and the urban health centre is in Gota. The announcement does not provide the individual costs, capacities or operational timelines for these projects.
A public meeting is scheduled for noon near Gandhi Ashram in Wadaj, beside a school and opposite the GSRTC complex. Amit Shah is expected to attend the meeting and participate in the inauguration, foundation-laying and housing-draw programmes.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has begun preparations for the events, according to the report. The November 9 programme will establish the immediate ceremonial milestones for the listed projects, while subsequent implementation details, including facility operations, construction schedules and housing allotment procedures, will determine when residents can use or occupy the assets.
