Ahmedabad: A marked shift in weather conditions has brought noticeable relief to Ahmedabad residents, with persistent cloud cover significantly lowering daytime temperatures after weeks of intense summer heat. The change reflects the strengthening influence of the southwest monsoon and highlights how seasonal weather transitions affect urban liveability, public health and city infrastructure.

The city’s maximum temperature settled at 32.2°C on Friday, remaining nearly four degrees below the long-term seasonal average. The cooler conditions stand in sharp contrast to the prolonged spell of extreme heat experienced until the beginning of July, when daytime temperatures frequently approached the 40°C mark. For residents, the decline has eased heat-related discomfort, while reducing immediate pressure on cooling demand across homes, workplaces and commercial establishments.
