The Union government has approved another phase of investment in Ahmedabad’s urban transport network, clearing a six-kilometre metro extension that is expected to improve connectivity while reinforcing the city’s long-term infrastructure strategy. The newly sanctioned Ahmedabad Metro Expansion is planned to include five additional stations, extending rail-based public transport into areas that are expected to witness rising residential and commercial activity.
