Adani Total Gas Ltd reported a six per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹173 crore for the second quarter of FY27, as higher gas volumes and network expansion lifted revenue from operations by 34 per cent to ₹2,110 crore.
The city gas distribution company said gas sales volumes increased 12 per cent year-on-year to 315 million standard cubic metres (MMSCM) during the July-September quarter. Compressed natural gas volumes rose 17 per cent to 223 MMSCM, while piped natural gas volumes grew 3 per cent to 92 MMSCM.
The company added 16 CNG stations during the quarter, taking its network to 723 stations. Its domestic PNG connections increased by nearly 40,000 to around 11.81 lakh households. The steel pipeline network expanded by 318 inch-km to 16,305 inch-km.
Adani Total Gas distributes CNG for vehicles and PNG to households, commercial establishments and industries. It operates city gas distribution networks across 34 geographical areas, while its joint venture with Indian Oil Corporation, Indian Oil-Adani Gas Private Ltd, operates in another 19 areas. Together, the businesses have a presence across 53 geographical areas.
Profit growth came despite higher input costs. The company said the cost of natural gas rose 43 per cent year-on-year during the quarter, citing elevated Brent-linked and spot gas prices, the withdrawal of pooled-gas support and the continuing West Asia crisis. It said a diversified sourcing portfolio, including domestic supplies, long-term contracts and market purchases, along with calibrated pricing, helped maintain supply reliability and customer demand.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose 12 per cent year-on-year to ₹340 crore. The figures indicate that the company’s expansion of urban gas infrastructure continued alongside pressure on the cost of supplying fuel to transport, household and commercial users.
Adani Total Gas also reported progress in businesses beyond conventional gas distribution. Its electric vehicle charging network reached 5,513 installed charge points across 26 States and Union Territories and 225 cities. The company reported sales of 460 tonnes of compressed biogas during the first half of FY27.
The results were accompanied by a leadership transition. Sanjay Pandita will take over as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer from November 1 for a three-year term. The appointment follows the superannuation of Suresh P Manglani, who will cease to be Executive Director and key managerial personnel at the close of business on October 31.
Pandita has more than 25 years of experience across natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and emerging low-carbon energy solutions. Before joining Adani Total Gas as CEO, he held leadership roles at Reliance Industries and Jio-bp, Mahanagar Gas and Gujarat Gas, and previously worked at Nayara Energy.
