Ahmedabad-based Gujarat Toolroom has announced a strategic foray into the green energy landscape with the acquisition of a sprawling 65-acre land parcel in Gujarat.
This bold move entails an investment of Rs 572 crore, aimed at establishing a pioneering Hybrid Power Plant, as revealed in an exchange filing by the company.
The Hybrid Power Plant project aims to contribute substantially to the generation of clean and sustainable power. The plant is expected to produce 97.5 megawatts of electricity, demonstrating the company’s dedication to promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions. The estimated timeline for the establishment of the plant spans three to five years, and Gujarat Toolroom is embarking on a journey toward sustainable energy production by utilising the state’s abundant resources and favourable climate. The strategic location of the project highlights Gujarat’s essential role in India’s renewable energy sector. The delineation of the land’s utility manifests a meticulous approach toward maximising efficiency and productivity. Out of the total land acquisition, 60 acres are earmarked for the deployment of solar panels, while the remainder will accommodate essential power management infrastructure, including transformer stations and high-voltage line terminals. Furthermore, the comprehensive land layout blueprint encompasses provisions for the integration of 15 on-shore wind turbines, each poised to yield 2.5 megawatts of power per hour.
