Mumbai Paint Company Kansai Nerolac Partners With ANA To Launch Sorakash Palette
Mumbai-based Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited has launched Sorakash, a sky-inspired colour palette developed in collaboration with Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA). The collection features 85 curated shades blending Japanese and Indian cultural influences, ranging from yellows and blues to greys and reds. Designed to appeal to homeowners seeking travel-inspired interiors, Sorakash merges ANA’s aviation heritage with Kansai Nerolac’s expertise in colour innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainable paint solutions, marking a unique Indo-Japanese partnership in decorative paints.
The name Sorakash combines Sora, the Japanese word for sky, with Akash, its Hindi counterpart, reflecting the collection’s cultural intent. It also embodies principles of Japanese aesthetics, such as harmony with nature, precision, and attention to detail, while adapting them for the Indian residential context.Hirokazu Kotera, Executive Director of Kansai Nerolac, said the collection goes beyond aesthetics, emphasising Japan’s reverence for nature and meticulous craftsmanship. “The partnership with ANA, guided by its ‘Inspiration of JAPAN’ philosophy, reinforces our Japanese heritage while differentiating us in India’s competitive decorative paints market,” he explained.
