Pune MHADA Redevelopment Of 19 Buildings Follows Air Force Rules
Pune is moving ahead with the redevelopment of 19 Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) buildings in Yerawada, carefully aligning the project with Air Force security regulations. Officials emphasised that the plan aims to modernise aging 40-year-old structures while ensuring the safety of surrounding defence installations.The redevelopment, located on Survey No. 191, will replace outdated structures with modern housing equipped with contemporary amenities.
Deputy chief officials overseeing urban development directed MHADA to strictly follow Air Force regulations during the project. Around 500 flat owners reside in these buildings, whose rehabilitation has been incorporated into the redevelopment plan.According to MHADA executives, the project will incorporate additional floor space index (FSI) to guarantee that all existing residents receive homes within the redeveloped complex. Plans also include open spaces, landscaped gardens, sports complexes, educational facilities, and wider roads to improve overall livability in the area.
Urban planners note that this redevelopment is a significant opportunity to enhance Pune’s housing infrastructure sustainably.
