IndiGo To Launch Second Daily Non Stop Flight Between Delhi-Itanagar

Arunachal Pradesh is set to witness a significant boost in air connectivity as IndiGo Airlines prepares to launch a second daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Itanagar starting 17 September 2025. The expansion comes in response to rising passenger demand and is expected to enhance business, tourism, and regional accessibility, officials from the state Civil Aviation Department confirmed.

The new service, Flight 6E 765, will depart Delhi at 9.40 AM, arriving in Itanagar by 12.20 PM. The return journey, Flight 6E 766, will leave Itanagar at 12.50 PM, reaching Delhi at 3.45 PM. Currently, IndiGo operates a single daily non-stop flight on this route, and the additional service aims to provide greater travel flexibility while supporting economic growth in the frontier state. Officials emphasised that improved air connectivity is vital for Arunachal Pradesh, given its strategic location and growing tourism and trade sectors. The additional flight is expected to ease travel for citizens, support local businesses, and attract more sustainable tourism by offering safer, faster, and more predictable transport options. Experts suggest that enhanced connectivity can also contribute indirectly to regional development and create equitable opportunities for local communities.

Government representatives welcomed the development, describing it as a timely intervention to strengthen the state’s link with the national capital and beyond. Officials highlighted that such measures are crucial in integrating Arunachal Pradesh more closely with national economic corridors, while promoting eco-conscious travel solutions in line with sustainable development goals. Industry experts noted that airlines expanding services on emerging routes like Delhi–Itanagar often reflect rising business activity and growing public interest in domestic tourism. The new flight schedule is likely to support both leisure and professional travel, enhancing accessibility to cultural, historical, and natural attractions in Arunachal Pradesh.

The addition of this flight aligns with broader initiatives aimed at creating environmentally responsible and sustainable mobility solutions, including the promotion of efficient, low-carbon air travel. By reducing the reliance on longer, multi-stop journeys, direct daily flights can also lower overall carbon emissions associated with regional travel. With the announcement, Arunachal Pradesh is poised to become more accessible for national and international travellers, providing a strategic advantage for trade, tourism, and socio-economic development. Officials are optimistic that this move will encourage responsible tourism, facilitate new business avenues, and strengthen the state’s profile as a connected and sustainable destination.

The new daily service is set to redefine travel convenience between the capital and the northeastern frontier, signalling a commitment to inclusive, forward-looking connectivity that balances growth with environmental responsibility.
