Thane City to Face 24 Hour Water Cut on July 25

Thane is set to experience a 24-hour water shutdown on Friday, July 25, impacting several areas across the city. The water supply disruption, initially scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, has been postponed due to crucial pipeline repairs being undertaken by the STEM Authority. The necessary work includes meter replacements and pipeline leak fixes at the Shahad raw water pumping station, with execution handled by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

According to the revised schedule, water supply will be completely halted from 9:00 AM on July 25 to 9:00 AM on July 26. The shutdown will be implemented in a phased manner across Thane city. During this period, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will manage a limited water supply through its own network, providing water once a day to some areas. This measure is intended to mitigate the inconvenience caused by the extensive repair work.

Specific areas will be affected during different time slots. From 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on July 25, residents in Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Balkum, Brahmand, Pawar Nagar, Kothari Compound, Dongri Pada, and Waghbil will face the water cut. Subsequently, from 9:00 PM on July 25 to 9:00 AM on July 26, neighborhoods including Samtanagar, Ritu Park, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson, Jail, Saket, Uthalsar, Reti Bandar, Kalwa, and parts of Mumbra will experience water disruption.

Authorities have advised all residents to make necessary arrangements by storing an adequate amount of water in advance and to use the available supply judiciously. They have also warned that water pressure is likely to remain low for one to two days after the supply resumes. The repairs are critical for the long-term maintenance of Thane’s water supply infrastructure, despite the temporary inconvenience.
