In a visionary move, Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy unveils an ambitious plan to elevate Hyderabad’s historic Hussain Sagar into a world-class tourist destination, drawing inspiration from the iconic attractions of Dubai. The comprehensive redevelopment initiative envisions skywalks, food stalls, children’s amusement zones, and lush green landscapes spanning from Ambedkar Statue to NTR Park, and encompassing Telangana Amarula Jyoti, Necklace Road to Indira Park, and Sanjeevayya Park.
The Chief Minister’s directive to clear encroachments and explore rerouting vehicular traffic underscores the commitment to enhancing accessibility and ensuring a tourist-friendly environment. Reddy emphasises a global perspective, instructing consultations with international agencies to craft models for this transformative project, aimed at not only beautifying Hussain Sagar but positioning Hyderabad as a global tourist hotspot.
Beyond the lake’s redevelopment, the Chief Minister outlines broader plans for the state’s advancement, including enhancements to the Outer Ring Road (ORR), the introduction of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), expansion of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits up to the RRR, and construction of radial roads for improved connectivity. The commitment to safeguard HMDA lands through digital and GPS methods and the engagement of a special consultancy for a vision document aligned with Master Plan 2050 further solidify the holistic approach to urban planning and tourism promotion.
In a proactive move towards transparency and accountability, Reddy initiates an investigation into alleged irregularities in Outer Ring Road toll tenders, addressing concerns over government revenue losses and streamlining processes for future developments.
