The Delhi Transport Department is gearing up to introduce 3,000 e-bikes and e-cycles in Dwarka, a sub-city in Delhi, to enhance last-mile connectivity for commuters. These electric two-wheelers will be strategically stationed at transit hubs, including Metro stations and bus stops, to offer convenient and sustainable transportation options.
The project is expected to roll out in phases across approximately 250 locations within Dwarka, catering to the transit needs of nearly one million residents in the area. The proposed e-bike and e-cycle deployment aims to bridge the connectivity gap and promote sustainable commuting options in Dwarka.
The transport department’s request for proposal, valued at INR 18 crore, seeks a service provider to supply both high-speed and low-speed electric two-wheelers. The introduction of e-bikes and e-cycles in Dwarka is anticipated to not only to address last-mile connectivity issues but also enhance green mobility options.
