Sustainable Urban Logistics Gains Momentum in Amsterdam

CTP’s flagship last-mile logistics hub in Amsterdam has secured a significant new tenant, with CIRRO Parcel signing a lease for 10,000 square metres of logistics space, along with an additional 600 square metres of office space. The move marks a strategic expansion for CIRRO Parcel, the last-mile delivery arm of CIRRO, a global leader in e-commerce logistics and fulfilment. By choosing CTPark Amsterdam City as its base, CIRRO aims to enhance operational efficiency while aligning with sustainability and urban mobility goals in response to tightening environmental regulations.

The exponential growth of e-commerce has heightened demand for last-mile delivery solutions that can facilitate quicker, more efficient distribution. As city authorities in Europe impose stricter controls on vehicle movements to curb emissions, logistics firms are increasingly seeking well-positioned hubs that optimise route planning and fleet efficiency. CIRRO’s decision to establish itself at CTPark Amsterdam City underscores the importance of location in modern logistics, with the site providing seamless access to key transportation networks, including the Port of Amsterdam and the city’s extensive canal system. The park’s strategic positioning not only reduces transit times but also minimises carbon emissions, supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable logistics.

CTPark Amsterdam City is designed as a next-generation logistics park, offering over 120,000 square metres of flexible storage and distribution facilities. Its sustainable infrastructure includes cross-dock facilities and a 5.7 MWp solar plant that powers operations with renewable energy, reflecting CTP’s broader commitment to environmentally responsible development. The hub’s accessibility via the ring Motorway A10 and its direct integration with Amsterdam’s urban transport network further strengthens its appeal to companies prioritising efficiency and sustainability in last-mile logistics.

CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer and owner of industrial real estate, has seen strong demand for space at CTPark Amsterdam City, with over half of the site now leased. The arrival of CIRRO Parcel highlights the increasing need for urban logistics hubs that can accommodate evolving e-commerce trends while adhering to stricter environmental norms. CIRRO’s move reinforces its mission to build a reliable, future-ready delivery network in the Netherlands, ensuring swifter, seamless service for customers while maintaining a responsible approach to urban logistics. As cities worldwide push for greener transportation and sustainable urban planning, developments like CTPark Amsterdam City set a precedent for the future of last-mile distribution.
