The real estate sector is grappling with high steel and cement prices again. While steel prices had remained low in 2022, they have risen by about 10 per cent early this year. Cement prices have also increased by around 5 per cent in the previous month.
TMT bar prices have increased by about 10 per cent to INR 66,500 per tonne. Cement prices have also increased by around 5 per cent to INR 400 a bag. Construction activity is slow currently, but critical raw material prices have increased.
