The state government approved 11 town planning schemes, nine of which were for Ahmedabad. The government also approved one town planning scheme each for Surat and Bhavnagar. In addition, two draft town planning schemes and seven preliminary town planning schemes for Ahmedabad have been approved. These include Auda’s draught town planning schemes 128/A Rupavati and 138/B Rupavati-Vadodara.
The government has also approved preliminary town planning scheme 57 Pandesara in Surat city and another such scheme 32 Shampura under the Bhavnagar Area Development Authority. 23,700 EWS housing units will be built as part of the Ahmedabad schemes that have been approved. In addition, a total of 25.05 hectares has been set aside for gardens and parks, with an additional 20.73 hectares set aside for other public amenities.
