Va Tech WABAG Profit Rises 18% as Order Book Tops ₹20,000 Crore

Va Tech WABAG reported an 18 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to ₹104 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, while its order book crossed ₹20,000 crore for the first time, strengthening the water technology company’s position in India’s infrastructure market.

The company reported net profit of ₹104 crore for the second quarter, compared with ₹85 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations increased to ₹1,000 crore from ₹834 crore, according to results reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

For the first half of FY26, Va Tech WABAG’s net profit rose 29 per cent to ₹195 crore from ₹151 crore in the corresponding period. Revenue for the six-month period increased 20 per cent to ₹1,887 crore from ₹1,568 crore.

The company’s order book stood at ₹20,200 crore as of September 2026. The figure is significant for a company operating in water technology, where order visibility reflects the pipeline of water and wastewater treatment projects awaiting execution. The company did not provide project-wise details in the statement reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

Rajiv Mittal, chairman and managing director of Va Tech WABAG, described the order-book milestone as a defining achievement for the company. “Crossing ₹20,000 crore in order book for the first time ever is a defining milestone for WABAG, achieved alongside robust top-line growth and strong profit momentum,” he said in a statement.

Mittal added that the order book was more than four times the company’s annual revenue and said the company had a healthy bid pipeline. The statement positioned the order book and revenue growth as indicators of the company’s current project visibility, although it did not specify the expected execution schedule or the geographic distribution of the contracts.

The results place the company’s financial performance alongside the wider delivery requirements of urban water infrastructure. Water technology companies are involved in the systems that support treatment and reuse, but the financial results alone do not establish how quickly individual projects will be commissioned or how their benefits will reach municipal users.

Va Tech WABAG’s share price closed at ₹1,867.10 on the National Stock Exchange on Thursday, up ₹12.50, or 0.67 per cent. The company did not disclose further operational milestones in the material reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. Its next performance will be assessed against the conversion of the order book into revenue and the execution of projects secured through its bid pipeline.
