Pune Metro Feeder Buses Add 620 Daily Trips Across 22 Stops

PMPML has announced 11 feeder buses and an extended route to connect Pune Metro stations with key employment and residential areas, adding 22 bus stops and 620 daily trips across 25 schedules.

The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd made the announcement on Wednesday evening for services linked to the new Metro line. The feeder network is intended to connect passengers with Metro stations across the Pimpri-Chinchwad, Wakad, Maan, Hinjewadi and Balewadi areas.

The services include a connection between Pimpri Metro station and Wakad Chowk Metro station. Other routes will link Maan MIDC Phase-2 Metro station with Nilsoft Company and Infosys Phase-3, and Mahalunge Gaon with TCS Main Metro station.

The announced stops include TCS/Maan, Maan MIDC Circle Phase-2, Wipro Circle, Padmabhushan Chowk, Hinjewadi Phase-1, Wakad Chowk, MITCON Balewadi and Balewadi High Street. These locations cover major employment clusters, commercial areas and neighbourhoods along the Metro network’s emerging western connectivity corridor.

According to the announcement, the 11 feeder buses will operate a combined 25 schedules and make 620 trips every day. The addition of an extended route means the bus network will serve not only Metro stations but also nearby business districts and local access points that may otherwise require separate road journeys.

For Metro passengers, the feeder services address the connection between stations and destinations such as offices, industrial areas and residential neighbourhoods. The route list includes several locations in and around Hinjewadi and Maan, where large employment campuses are situated alongside rapidly developing urban areas.

PMPML’s announcement provides the number of buses, stops, schedules and daily trips, but does not specify fares, individual service timings or the date on which each route will begin operations. Further operational details will determine how commuters can use the services alongside the Metro network.

The latest announcement places bus connectivity at the centre of Pune’s Metro expansion, particularly in areas where stations are separated from large workplaces and residential catchments. The next point for commuters will be the release of route-wise timings and operating instructions for the newly announced services.
