Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy has clarified that applications for enrolment in the electoral roll for the upcoming MLC election can be submitted even after the November 6 deadline, including during the claims and objections period and until nominations close.
The clarification applies to the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency and the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency. The CEO issued the statement to prevent confusion among citizens over the schedule for preparing the electoral rolls.
According to the release, applications in Form 18 can be submitted up to November 6, 2026, the scheduled last date for receiving applications under the Election Commission’s de-novo preparation process. The draft electoral rolls for the two constituencies are scheduled to be published on November 25.
A further opportunity will be available during the claims and objections period from November 25 to December 10, the release said. Applicants can also submit Form 18 applications from the date of final publication of the electoral rolls, scheduled for December 30, until the last date for filing nominations for the Graduates’ constituencies.
The two constituencies cover graduate voters across a large part of Telangana, including Hyderabad and surrounding districts. The enrolment process is therefore linked to how eligible graduates are included in the electoral rolls before the Legislative Council election. The CEO’s clarification separates the November 6 deadline for the initial stage from the later windows available under the election schedule.
The biennial election to the Telangana Legislative Council from the two Graduates’ constituencies is scheduled to be held in March 2027. The Election Commission has not yet announced the specific date of polling. The final electoral rolls are due to be published on December 30, according to the schedule cited by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer.
