Telangana Renewable Energy Schemes received a fresh implementation push on Monday, with Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) Vice Chairman and Managing Director Jithesh V. Patil directing district officials and implementing agencies to meet prescribed targets within stipulated timelines.
Patil issued the directions during a video conference from the TGREDCO head office in Hyderabad with District Managers and representatives of agencies implementing renewable energy programmes across the state. The review examined completed work, ongoing activities and pending issues across multiple schemes.
The programmes discussed included the Model Solar Village Programme, rooftop solar power plants, solarisation of agricultural pump sets, the PM-KUSUM scheme, energy conservation activities and the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Patil asked officials to identify field-level challenges and resolve them through coordination with the departments concerned.
Rooftop solar installations were given specific attention. Patil directed officials to expand installations at the residences of eligible beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi scheme. District Managers were asked to create awareness among eligible consumers about the benefits of rooftop solar and to speed up the installation process.
He also instructed officials to prepare district-level action plans for agricultural pump-set solarisation and the PM-KUSUM scheme. The directions place responsibility for translating state-level renewable energy targets into district-level implementation plans, although the report does not specify the number of installations or the deadlines for individual districts.
Pending approvals and inspections were identified as immediate implementation issues. Patil asked officials to accelerate approvals required from various departments and complete inspections without delay. He said District Managers and implementing agencies must work in close coordination to ensure that projects are executed on time.
The review also covered awareness programmes on energy conservation, efficient electricity use and the adoption of renewable energy sources. TGREDCO officials were directed to continue monitoring the performance of District Managers and implementing agencies and to review progress against prescribed targets and timelines.
The meeting comes as renewable energy delivery in Telangana is being pursued through programmes serving different user groups, including households, agricultural consumers and public or private users of electric vehicles. The supplied report does not provide a consolidated state target, installation count, district-wise progress figure or financial allocation for the programmes discussed.
Patil told officials that accountability and collective efforts would be essential for implementing the government’s priority programmes. District Managers and implementing agencies are expected to address pending approvals, inspections and field-level coordination issues as the schemes move towards their prescribed timelines.
