Police have registered a case against 13 people, including the owner of an infratech company, after 51 people were allegedly defrauded of ₹89.07 lakh through promises of affordable flats and open plots in Pune. The case was registered at the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station following a complaint by Vandana Dnyandev Khandare, 38, a nurse from Bibwewadi’s Upper Ota area.
According to the complaint and information provided by the police, the alleged fraud took place between 2023 and 18 September 2026. The accused allegedly collected booking payments from customers by promoting flats and plots at affordable rates but did not hand over possession of the promised properties.
Khandare told police that she saw an advertisement on social media in July 2023 for the company’s ‘Katraj Valley’ housing project. The advertisement offered flats at affordable prices. After contacting the company, she was called to its office in Mangadewadi by manager Amol Gore.
Khandare allegedly booked two flats priced at ₹8 lakh and ₹14 lakh and paid ₹2 lakh towards the bookings. Chaitrali Dahiwal subsequently signed an agreement with her on behalf of the company. Khandare alleged that Gore and Sagar Gole told her that the project would be inaugurated and construction would begin within six months.
However, she said she received no information about the start of construction even after six months had passed. When she visited the company’s Mangadewadi office to seek an explanation, she allegedly did not receive satisfactory answers. She later learnt that several customers who had booked flats were cancelling their bookings and seeking refunds.
Khandare also sought cancellation and repayment, but was allegedly told that Gore, Dahiwal and Gole had left the company. According to the complaint, office employees told her, “We have not taken your money; do whatever you want.” She then approached the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station.
The police investigation found, according to the report, that the company had accepted booking amounts from several people after offering flats and open plots, but had not handed over the promised properties. The total amount allegedly collected from 51 people is ₹89.07 lakh.
The accused named in the case are company owner Kisan Dhawaji Rathod, Sushalini Kisan Rathod, Shivkanya Rathod, Pranavi Bhagwat Anerao, Chaitrali Vishal Dahiwal, Sanjana Rathod, Anil Shankar Deshmukh, Hanumant Balu Gore, Rajesh Rangrao Kakade, Balasaheb Kondiba Ghogre, Abhishek Chandrashekhar Saswade, Sagar Gole and Amol Gore.
Other booking holders quoted in the report alleged that construction had not started despite assurances and payments. One customer said the company had promised to begin work within two months, while another alleged that only basic excavation had been carried out at a project in Ambegaon. These statements are allegations recorded in the report and have not been independently established.
Civic Mirror reported that it attempted to contact the infratech company, but received no response. Police Sub-Inspector Patil is conducting the further investigation.
