Mysuru e-Khata Drive Gets New Push With 3-Day Citizen Window

Mysuru Municipal Corporation will extend its special e-Khata distribution drive from November 5 to 7, giving eligible property owners another opportunity to submit applications and obtain digital property records, Urban Development Minister Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah said. The announcement follows a special camp on October 28 that received 730 applications, of which 590 eligible beneficiaries were issued e-Khatas.

Speaking at an e-Khata distribution drive held at the Mysuru Municipal Corporation premises, Siddaramaiah said the government’s objective was to ensure that all eligible property owners received the facility. He said special campaigns were important for making property documents easier for citizens to access and simplifying the process of obtaining e-Khatas.

Mysuru Municipal Corporation has more than 2.10 lakh properties within its jurisdiction. More than 78,700 properties have so far been issued e-Khatas, according to figures cited by the minister. Officials have been instructed to accelerate the process for the remaining eligible properties.

The additional three-day window is intended for property owners who could not participate in the October 28 camp and for applicants who were unable to provide the required documents. Siddaramaiah said eligible owners should use the opportunity to submit applications with the necessary records.

He directed officials to prioritise the scrutiny of eligible applications and issue e-Khatas according to the rules. He also called for action to prevent unnecessary delays and stressed the need for transparency and citizen-friendly administration during the distribution process.

The e-Khata system is intended to provide property records in digital form through the municipal administration. For property owners, access to updated records depends not only on the availability of the digital service but also on the submission and verification of supporting documents. The figures from the October 28 drive show both the demand for the service and the gap between applications received and applications found eligible at that stage.

The minister said no eligible property owner should be denied access to an e-Khata because of a lack of documents. The corporation’s next special drive on November 5, 6 and 7 will therefore focus on giving applicants another opportunity to submit records and complete the process.

MLA Tanveer Sait, Karnataka Exhibition Authority chairman Ayub Khan, Mysuru city-level committee chairperson Pushpavalli, former mayor Arif Hussain, Mysuru Divisional Commissioner Nitesh Patil, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar and Mysuru Municipal Corporation Commissioner M.K. Savitha attended the programme.
