Ahmedabad Aluminium Scrap Deal Triggers ₹16.04 Lakh Fraud Complaint

A police complaint has been filed in Ahmedabad alleging that an agent collected ₹16.04 lakh from a company seeking 50 tonnes of aluminium extrusion scrap from abroad but failed to deliver the material or return the money.

According to a report by Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad, the complaint was filed by 63-year-old Chandu Patel, a resident of Memnagar, against Dhalval Panchal, who is identified as an agent based in Ranip. The complaint alleges cheating and breach of trust in connection with a proposed international scrap supply transaction.

The transaction involved Aritya Impex, a company operating from the Science City Road area of Sola. Patel’s son Parth and his associate Anand Dave were reportedly looking to procure Aluminium 6063 extrusion scrap from overseas. Panchal allegedly approached them and represented himself as an authorised agent of Victoria Enterprise, a company stated to be based in Chennai and the United States.

The report says Panchal promised to arrange 50 tonnes of the material from Israel. Based on the proposed deal, Dave transferred a total of ₹16.04 lakh to Panchal’s bank account in instalments between November 2025 and January 2026. The payments were made from Dave’s Kotak Mahindra Bank account, according to the complaint details reported by the publication.

The parties also entered into a business agreement in January. Under the reported terms, Panchal was required to deliver the material within 10 days or return the advance payment. He allegedly provided a cheque for ₹10 lakh as security. When the 10-day period ended without delivery, Dave contacted the original owner of Victoria Enterprise, who reportedly denied that the company had arranged or dispatched any such shipment.

The complainants then allegedly examined the addresses provided by Panchal. The report states that his residential and office addresses were found to be inaccurate and that he had vacated one of the premises eight years earlier. It also reports that a previous cheating case had been registered against him in Andhra Pradesh.

The security cheque allegedly bounced when presented to the bank. The complaint has therefore sought action over the alleged non-payment of ₹16.04 lakh and the failure to supply the contracted aluminium scrap. The report does not establish the final findings of the police investigation, and the allegations remain subject to investigation and due process.
