MGL Partners with Nawgati to Promote CNG Adoption for Fleet Operators in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has partnered with Nawgati, a local fuel aggregator startup, to boost the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) among fleet operators in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad districts. This partnership is part of MGL’s CNG Mahotsav 2.0, an initiative designed to promote cleaner, more eco-friendly fuel alternatives for commercial vehicles. The program is aimed at fleet operators who are ready to transition to CNG by purchasing new CNG vehicles or retrofitting existing ones.

To make the transition smoother for fleet owners, MGL is offering a significant incentive through its collaboration with Nawgati. As part of the initiative, fleet operators can enjoy free refueling at select MGL CNG stations using the MGL Fuel Card. The card, which is available in both physical and virtual formats, can be used across MGL’s extensive network of CNG stations, including select BEST bus depots in Ghatkopar and Goregaon. The program also simplifies fleet management with Nawgati’s digital platform. Fleet operators can register online, set up accounts, and manage their vehicles and refueling operations from one place. Nawgati’s digital tools, including the Nawgati Fuelling app, provide a seamless experience for fleet owners. Additionally, MGL and Nawgati offer a dual payment solution, allowing operators to pay for refueling either by tapping the MGL Fuel Card at POS machines or through the MGL Connect or Nawgati Fuelling apps.

Vaibhav Kaushik, Co-founder and CEO of Nawgati, emphasized the shared commitment of both companies to sustainability, saying, “We are proud to partner with MGL to make transitioning to CNG a seamless experience for fleet operators and contribute to a greener future.” To further streamline the process, Nawgati has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MGL to integrate the MGL Tez app with the Nawgati Fuelling app. This integration will allow fleet operators to pre-schedule refueling slots at select BEST bus depots, reducing wait times and ensuring efficient operations. By combining technology, convenience, and incentives, this partnership is helping drive the growth of the CNG ecosystem in the region, making it easier for businesses to adopt cleaner fuels and contribute to environmental sustainability.
