Ghaziabad Schools Shut on October 30 for PET-2026 Exam

All schools and colleges in Ghaziabad will remain closed on October 30, 2026, after the district authorities ordered a one-day suspension of academic activity in view of the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026 written examination.

The order was issued by the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Ghaziabad. According to a letter issued by the DIOS office on October 14, all educational institutions covered by the directive must follow the closure order on Friday.

The decision applies to higher secondary schools and intermediate colleges across the district. It covers government, aided and unaided recognised schools affiliated with the Uttar Pradesh Board, as well as institutions recognised by the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

Institutions recognised by the Basic Education Department have also been included in the order. This means the directive extends across different school-management categories and boards rather than applying only to government-run institutions.

The order affects regular teaching and learning activities for the day. Parents and students should check any separate communication issued by their individual schools regarding administrative work, examinations or other scheduled activities, as the supplied order specifically concerns the district-wide closure of educational institutions on October 30.

The district administration’s move reflects the operational requirements linked to the PET-2026 written examination. The order does not indicate any extension beyond October 30, and no revised academic calendar or additional holiday was mentioned in the information available.

The closure comes into effect on Friday, October 30, with all listed schools and colleges in Ghaziabad required to comply with the DIOS direction.
