Hyderabad Climate Change Seminar Added to Telangana Global Summit

A dedicated climate change seminar will be held during the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 in Hyderabad from December 7 to 9, bringing climate researchers, meteorological experts and policy specialists into an event otherwise focused on investment and industrial development.

The seminar will take place at Bharat Future City, where the international summit is expected to bring together industrialists, investors and experts from India and abroad. Officials said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed that climate change be included as a special sub-theme alongside the summit’s main “Invest Telangana” agenda.

The proposed discussions will examine the effects of climate change and El Niño, as well as policy responses being adopted by countries around the world. Topics listed by officials include drought, water scarcity, agricultural distress, rising temperatures, increasing power demand, environmental conservation and the preparation of climate-resilient development plans.

Officials said the forum would allow the Telangana government to present measures it has undertaken to mitigate the impact of El Niño. The seminar will also consider international policies, technology solutions and global practices that could help address climate-related risks.

The inclusion of climate change in an investment summit places environmental resilience alongside industrial growth, green energy and sustainable development in the state’s investment outreach. The summit is also expected to focus on environmentally sustainable industries and green energy projects, although the officials’ statement did not specify the number or value of projects to be announced under these themes.

The wider event will include Raksha Expo 2026 and exhibitions covering aerospace, defence, space technology, artificial intelligence and startups. The summit will also be used to unveil industrial policies and sign investment partnership agreements, officials said.

A curtain-raiser for Raksha Expo has already been held in Hyderabad. A promotional event for the Global Summit is scheduled in New Delhi on October 29, while the Telangana government has launched an outreach initiative to invite national and international industries and investment organisations to the state.

The state government is expected to invite meteorological experts, university researchers and specialists working in climate-related fields to participate in the seminar during the December 7-9 summit.
