Pune–Bhubaneswar direct flight connectivity will begin on October 25, with IndiGo introducing a daily service from Pune Airport under the Winter Schedule 2026–27. The new route will provide a non-stop travel option between Maharashtra’s major urban centre and Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, avoiding the need for passengers to travel through connecting airports.
The service is part of the winter schedule that takes effect on Sunday. Airlines have taken up 216 of the 235 daily slots available at Pune Airport under the schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The new route adds to the airport’s existing direct connectivity to 35 destinations.
The direct connection is expected to support passengers travelling between western and eastern India for business, education, tourism, trade and industrial activity. Professionals and students travelling between Pune and Bhubaneswar will have an additional option, while tourists and business travellers will not need to rely exclusively on connecting flights through other cities.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol said the daily service would strengthen links between Pune and Bhubaneswar. “The commencement of a new daily direct flight between Pune and Bhubaneswar from 25 October 2026, under the Winter Schedule 2026–27, will further strengthen air connectivity between these two important cities,” he said.
Mohol added that the service would facilitate travel for business, tourism and education, promote cultural exchange and improve passenger convenience. The route also expands the travel choices available to residents and institutions in Pune that require regular links with Odisha’s capital.
Pune Airport’s schedule position reflects the continuing demand for air services from the city. With airlines occupying 216 of the 235 daily slots approved for the winter period, the airport is operating as an important aviation hub for Maharashtra and serving the region’s passenger and travel requirements.
Pune Airport said it would continue coordinating with airlines, regulatory authorities, security agencies and other stakeholders to maintain safe, efficient and passenger-friendly operations. The IndiGo service is scheduled to commence on October 25 as part of the Winter Schedule 2026–27.
