Dudu Solar Plant Fire Spreads as Fire Crews Rush from Three Towns

A major fire broke out at Grew Solar’s power plant in Dudu, around 60 km from Jaipur, on Friday evening, prompting fire tenders from Bagru, Phulera, Ajmer, Kishangarh and other nearby towns to join efforts to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire and the extent of damage remained unknown as firefighting operations continued late into the night.

The fire broke out at around 6pm, Dudu Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupam Mishra told The Times of India. Flames spread rapidly across the sprawling facility, making it difficult for emergency teams to control the blaze and raising concerns that it could move beyond the plant premises.

Jaipur Rural Superintendent of Police Hanuman Prasad Meena confirmed that the facility belonged to Grew Solar and said police and other teams were working to bring the situation under control. Officials called in fire tenders from Bagru, Phulera and Ajmer, while additional resources were mobilised from Kishangarh and other nearby locations.

An official involved in the response said the immediate priority was to prevent the fire from spreading outside the plant. “The only available option at this point in time is to stop the fire from spreading far from the plant, but it will be very difficult to control the fire at the solar plant; it will ravage through it,” the official said.

Firefighters continued spraying water on the facility, but officials said the effort was not proving sufficient to quickly bring the blaze under control. Police and district administration officials remained in contact with company representatives while emergency teams worked across the site.

The authorities also contacted company officials to account for people who may have been present at the plant. All employees were accounted for, and no injuries had been reported by late Friday night. Officials had not yet established what caused the fire or assessed the damage to the power plant.

The incident required fire stations in several nearby towns and districts to send vehicles to Dudu, underlining the scale of the emergency response. Firefighting operations were continuing late into the night, with police, district administration officials and company representatives coordinating the next steps.
