IndiGo passengers travelling to and from Indore faced cancellations and cascading delays after a Bengaluru-Indore flight was diverted to Hyderabad because of a medical emergency, while a separate aircraft technical problem disrupted additional services. The disruption affected flight 6E-959 and operations connecting Indore with Chandigarh, Mumbai and Pune.
Flight 6E-959, operating from Bengaluru to Indore, declared a medical emergency on Monday morning after a passenger fell ill while the aircraft was over Telangana. The flight was diverted to Hyderabad, where it landed safely at 8:41 am, according to a report by Times of India – Indore.
The diversion delayed the aircraft’s arrival in Indore by about 90 minutes. As a result, the onward Indore-Chandigarh service was pushed to 11:49 am. The return Chandigarh-Indore flight and the afternoon Bengaluru departure were also affected by the delay.
IndiGo also cancelled its Pune-Indore and Indore-Mumbai operations, causing further disruption for passengers at Indore’s airport. The cancellations were linked to an earlier aircraft issue involving a Pune-bound flight scheduled for late Sunday night, which was grounded after a technical snag.
The same aircraft had been scheduled to operate the early-morning Mumbai rotation. Its unavailability led to the cancellation of the 7:05 am Indore-Mumbai flight and the subsequent 11:50 am Mumbai-Indore service.
The incident illustrates how a medical diversion on one flight and a technical grounding on another can affect several later services when aircraft are scheduled for tightly connected rotations. In this case, the disruption extended beyond the original Bengaluru-Indore flight to multiple routes serving Indore.
The available report did not specify the nature of the passenger’s medical condition, the technical fault affecting the Pune-bound aircraft, or the revised arrangements made for passengers on the cancelled and delayed flights. The affected services and timings were reported by Times of India – Indore.
