Air India Express announced the launch of double daily flights between Kolkata and Port Blair, set to start on December 1. This expansion marks a significant addition to the airline’s growing domestic network, also introducing direct routes from Jammu to Delhi, Srinagar, and Bengaluru to Port Blair. The airline, which has opened bookings on its website and major travel platforms, aims to enhance accessibility across India’s regional sectors.
The flight schedules include an 8:35 am departure from Port Blair, reaching Kolkata by 10:45 am, with a second flight departing Port Blair at 12:20 pm and arriving in Kolkata by 2:35 pm. From Kolkata, the first flight leaves at 5:40 am, reaching Port Blair at 7:50 am, followed by a 9:20 am departure, landing in Port Blair by 11:40 am. This setup provides flexible options for travelers, especially those looking to visit the Andaman Islands for both leisure and business purposes. Managing Director of Air India Express, highlighted the airline’s commitment to connecting India’s diverse regions, especially for the holiday season. “With our expanded fleet, we now offer a compelling pan-India domestic network alongside our international routes. The new connections from Jammu and the Andaman Islands are part of our vision to be New India’s Smart Connector,” MD stated. This expansion caters to increased travel demands, offering more convenient and frequent options for travelers between key destinations. The new Kolkata-Port Blair double daily route is expected to boost tourism and economic exchanges, strengthening accessibility to popular yet remote locations like the Andaman Islands.
