The Indian Railways has announced the introduction of two special trains between Panvel and Madgaon to meet the growing passenger demand along this route. These special services, scheduled for mid-September, aim to provide additional connectivity between the two cities while accommodating the surge in travel expected during the festive season.
The Madgaon-Panvel Special (Train No. 01428) is set to depart from Madgaon at 09:30 hrs on 15th September 2024, reaching Panvel at 22:15 hrs the same day. The return service, Panvel-Madgaon Special (Train No. 01427), will leave Panvel at 23:45 hrs on 15th September 2024, arriving at Madgaon at 11:00 hrs the following day. The special trains will halt at several stations en route, including Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali, ensuring comprehensive connectivity for passengers travelling between the Konkan and Goa regions.
The composition of these special trains includes a range of classes to cater to various passenger needs: one AC-2 Tier coach, three AC-3 Tier coaches, two AC-3 Tier Economy coaches, eight Sleeper class coaches, five General Second Class coaches (including one Guard’s brake van), and one Generator Car.
