The Goshamahal Police Stadium complex in Hyderabad, which is undergoing construction of a 48-horse stable, a five-storeyed City Armed Reserve building and other facilities, is expected to become fully equipped and operational by October 2027, according to the Telangana police. Director General of Police C. V. Anand reviewed the works at the stadium on October 5 and directed officials and engineers to speed up construction after expressing concern over delays.
The infrastructure planned within the complex includes a modern stable for 48 horses, a five-storeyed City Armed Reserve, or CAR, building, dog kennels and facilities for sports, games and athletics. The projects are being developed on the existing stadium premises.
The DGP’s inspection covered the progress of the ongoing construction and the broader arrangements required to make the complex functional. Officials were instructed to continue the works in a time-bound manner, with the target of having the infrastructure fully operational by October 2027.
The stadium will also host the Police Commemoration Day programme on October 21. The annual event is held in memory of police personnel who died in the line of duty. During the inspection, Mr. Anand reviewed the proposed venue for the commemorative ceremony and discussed arrangements for the main stage, entry and exit points, parking and the movement of dignitaries and other participants.
Officials were directed to clearly designate access routes for visitors and police personnel. The police were also asked to coordinate across departments to manage the expected gathering and ensure that movement within the stadium is organised during the programme.
The preparations for the October 21 ceremony will proceed alongside the construction works. The DGP instructed officials to complete the arrangements for the event while maintaining the time-bound execution of the stadium’s infrastructure projects. The police have set October 2027 as the timeline for the Goshamahal Police Stadium complex to be fully equipped and operational.
