Mira Bhayandar Job Fair Opens 1,000+ Opportunities Through 19 Companies

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation organised a job fair offering more than 1,000 employment opportunities through the participation of 19 companies, giving local job seekers access to recruitment opportunities across several sectors.

The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rojgar Mahakumbh–Maharashtra was held on September 29 at the Dhammasamrat Ashok Buddha Vihar and Vipassana Centre in Mira Road East. The event was organised under the civic body’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan for young people seeking employment.

According to Loksatta’s report, more than 19 recognised companies took part in the fair. The participating employers were present to offer opportunities in different fields, while young men and women attended in large numbers. The report described the response from employment seekers as strong.

Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Radhabinod A. Sharma inaugurated the event. During the programme, Sharma interacted with participating young people and urged them to make the fullest use of the employment opportunities available at the fair.

The municipal commissioner said the primary purpose of the employment gathering was to provide job opportunities to young people according to their educational qualifications, skills and abilities. The initiative also sought to help industries, establishments and employers access the skilled workforce they require.

The event placed the municipal corporation in the role of a facilitator between job seekers and employers. Rather than limiting the programme to a general employment announcement, the civic body presented the fair as a platform intended to connect candidates’ qualifications and capabilities with available jobs.

The report did not provide a company-wise list of participating employers, details of the job profiles, salary levels, eligibility conditions, interview outcomes or the number of candidates selected. It also did not specify how many of the more than 1,000 opportunities were filled during the event.

For residents seeking work in the Mira Bhayandar area, the location of the fair in Mira Road East provided a local point of access to multiple employers at one venue. The participation of companies from different fields also allowed candidates to explore opportunities aligned with their education and skills, according to the stated objective of the programme.

The municipal corporation’s stated next step is to use the employment fair to connect eligible candidates with participating companies and to support employers in finding skilled manpower. Further details on selections, appointments or follow-up assistance were not included in the report.
