Thane Corporation has scheduled its next zonal Lokshahi Din, or public grievance day, for October 19 and has asked residents to submit their applications by October 5 to seek action on personal complaints.
The civic body organises the zonal grievance day every month on the third Monday, following the model of the taluka-level Lokshahi Din. The process is intended to provide residents with a formal channel to place individual complaints before the municipal administration and seek their prompt resolution.
The corporation has appealed to citizens to first submit their applications at the relevant zonal office for consideration during the zonal Lokshahi Din. The notice sets October 5 as the deadline for submitting applications for the October 19 session.
For residents whose complaints do not receive action after being filed during the zonal Lokshahi Din, the corporation has clarified that they may submit a representation for the municipal-level Lokshahi Din in accordance with the applicable rules. Such a representation can be submitted 15 days before the municipal Lokshahi Din, the civic body said.
The arrangement places the zonal office as the first point of contact for residents seeking redress. It also creates a stated escalation route for complaints that remain unresolved after the zonal-level hearing. The corporation’s communication does not indicate that every complaint will be resolved at the hearing, but it sets out the sequence residents are expected to follow before seeking consideration at the municipal level.
For residents in Kalwa, Mumbra and Diva who fall under the jurisdiction of Prabhag Samitis in the first administrative circle, applications must be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s office at the Kalwa Prabhag Samiti office in Kalwa. The location specified by the corporation applies to residents covered by Circle 1.
The notice concerns individual complaints to the Thane civic administration. Residents submitting representations will need to use the designated office and meet the stated deadline so that their applications can be considered for the October 19 zonal grievance day. The corporation has not provided further details in the notice on the categories of complaints that will be taken up or the number of applications expected.
The October 5 deadline is the immediate administrative milestone for residents covered by the announcement. The zonal Lokshahi Din is scheduled for October 19, after which unresolved matters may be taken forward through the municipal-level process under the corporation’s stated 15-day submission rule.
