Pune-Mumbai Highway Restricted for High-Profile Event

The Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic police have announced stringent traffic restrictions along the Pune-Mumbai highway. This decision comes as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is set to inaugurate the Ladki Bahin Yojana at Balewadi Stadium on Saturday, drawing considerable attention from top officials and dignitaries.

The event is expected to host a high-profile guest list, including Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with numerous other ministers and approximately 800-900 distinguished guests. To facilitate the smooth conduct of the event and manage the anticipated influx of attendees, the police have imposed a ban on heavy vehicles along the highway for the entire day.

Traffic management measures will restrict the movement of heavy vehicles from Chandani Chowk to the Urse toll naka, including routes from Chakan and Pimpri-Chinchwad to the highway. The restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 8 pm on Saturday, aimed at alleviating potential congestion and ensuring unobstructed transit for local and emergency vehicles. Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance and consider alternative routes to avoid disruptions. The restriction is specifically targeted to manage the anticipated traffic flow and prevent delays during the event.

This proactive measure is expected to significantly reduce the risk of traffic jams and ensure that the inauguration proceeds smoothly. Authorities emphasise the importance of adhering to these traffic guidelines to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure the safety and efficiency of road transport in the area. The police have also urged commuters to stay informed about any additional traffic updates and adjustments leading up to and during the event.

Overall, these restrictions are a precautionary step to ensure that the high-profile event at Balewadi Stadium unfolds without any hitches, maintaining order and safety on one of the region’s busiest highways.
