The officials said that the issuance of a notice does not by itself mean that a name has been removed from the electoral roll. They said the information and documents submitted by such voters would undergo the prescribed verification process, after which eligible names would be included in the final list.
Other prominent figures named in the report include Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and former Union minister Kapil Sibal. Gupta’s entry was validated after document verification, and her name has been proposed for inclusion in the final electoral roll for the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency.
