Bengaluru residents will get a special weekend opportunity to check their names and details in the draft electoral roll, register as voters, and file claims or objections before the September 23 deadline. The campaign will be held across the city on Saturday and Sunday under the Election Commission of India’s directions for revision of electoral rolls.
The drive covers all 28 assembly constituencies under the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru district election officer. The draft electoral roll was published on August 24, and citizens can submit claims and objections until September 23.
During the two-day campaign, voter registration facilities will be available at the offices of electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers, ward offices and polling stations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. These locations will allow residents to check their electoral roll details and seek corrections or other changes where required.
The campaign is intended to help residents who may not have checked the draft roll or who face difficulties with registration and corrections. Citizens can use the available facilities to verify whether their details are included and submit claims or objections within the prescribed period.
The exercise places ward offices and polling stations alongside electoral registration offices as access points for the revision process. For Bengaluru residents, this creates multiple points of contact across the city during the weekend rather than limiting the process to designated electoral registration offices.
