Karnataka rains intensified across Bengaluru South, Mandya, Mysuru and several other parts of the state over the past 24 hours, with Kudloor in Channapatna taluk recording the highest rainfall at 145.5 mm, according to data released by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre.
The rainfall followed a hot and uncomfortable day during the Gowri-Ganesha festival, bringing relief to residents in several areas. The heaviest spell was recorded in parts of Ramanagara and Mandya districts, with multiple locations receiving more than 100 mm of rain.
Honganuru in Channapatna taluk recorded 128 mm, while Taggikuppe in Magadi taluk received 126.5 mm. Nethanahalli recorded 119 mm, followed by Magadi at 118 mm and Madabala at 116.5 mm.
In Mandya district, Bhoo Halli in Malavalli taluk recorded 114 mm, Belakavadi received 111.5 mm and Bandur recorded 119 mm. Koo lage re in Maddur taluk received 103 mm, while Kaggalipura in Malavalli recorded 98.5 mm.
Several locations in Mysuru, Ramanagara, Tumakuru and Kolar districts also recorded substantial rainfall. T. Doddapura in T. Narasipura taluk, Doddamaralawadi in Kanakapura taluk and Hodaghatta in Mandya taluk each received 98 mm. Nidasale in Kunigal taluk recorded 95 mm, while Kolar received 93.6 mm.
The rainfall totals also included 92.5 mm at Kolathur, 90.5 mm at Kolagondanahalli, 90 mm at Hulivana and 88 mm at Huluwadi. In Bengaluru, Bommanahalli recorded 68.5 mm, while Mantapa in Anekal taluk received 67 mm. The figures cover the 24-hour period reported by the state disaster monitoring centre.
