Pune’s 2026 Ganpati sthapana schedule will bring processions from three of the city’s five revered Manache Ganpati mandals through central neighbourhoods on Monday, September 14, with installations planned from late morning to early afternoon. Preparations have also been completed at Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati and Akhil Mandai Mandal, according to a report by Loksatta – Pune.
The festival will run for 12 days this year because of an increase in the relevant lunar period, the report said. Organisers have been finalising procession arrangements, inviting dhol-tasha and band groups, and purchasing पूजा materials ahead of the installations. The procession routes and timings place several activities around prominent central Pune roads and junctions.
The procession of the Kasba Ganpati Mandal, recognised as Pune’s gramdaivat and the first Manacha Ganpati, will leave the festival pavilion at 8.15 am. The idol, obtained from sculptor Abhijit Dhondphale’s Kal निकेतan Studio, will be carried in a silver palanquin before reaching the festival pavilion. Prabhat Band, Sangharsh Dhol-Tasha Pathak, Dnyanaprabodhini Yuvak Vibhag and Shaurya Dhol-Tasha Pathak are scheduled to participate.
The installation of the Kasba Ganpati will take place at 11.45 am. It will be conducted by 19-year-old Vedamurti Devvrat Rekhe, who has completed the Dandkram Parayan at the Sangved Vidyapeeth in Varanasi, according to the report.
The second Manacha Ganpati, the Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandal, will begin its procession at 10 am from Mandar Lodge on Kelkar Road in Narayan Peth. The procession will proceed through Kunte Chowk, Nagarkar Talim Chowk and Appa Balwant Chowk before reaching the festival pavilion. Nagara performance by the Adhav brothers, New Gandharva Brass Band, Taal Dhol-Tasha Pathak and Vishnunad Shankh Pathak are listed among the participating groups.
The Tambdi Jogeshwari idol will be installed at 12.15 pm by Yogi Niranjannath Guru Shantinath, a trustee of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan in Alandi. The mandal has created a replica of the Tulja Bhavani Temple at Tuljapur, one of the three-and-a-half Shakti Peethas, for this year’s celebrations.
The third Manacha Ganpati, the Guruji Talim Mandal, will start its procession at 11 am from the Guruji Talim Ganpati Temple. The idol will be carried on a floral chariot created by brothers Swapnil and Subhash Sarpale. The procession will pass through Ganpati Chowk, Limbaraj Maharaj Chowk, Appa Balwant Chowk and Jageshwari Chowk before reaching the festival pavilion.
Nagara performer Jayant Nagarkar, Ashwaraj Brass Band and the Guruji Pratishthan, Shivtej, Shivrudra, Shiv Taal, Rudratej and Kalavant dhol-tasha groups are scheduled to participate. The Guruji Talim Ganpati installation will take place at 1.55 pm, with entrepreneur Puneet Balan and Jhanvi Dhariwal-Balan performing the installation, the report said.
The report did not provide details of traffic restrictions, police arrangements or public transport changes linked to the processions. Residents using the listed roads should check official announcements from Pune’s civic and traffic authorities before travelling on Monday.
