Zudio, Trent Ltd’s value-fashion retail chain, has crossed 1,000 stores in India, marking a rapid expansion across more than 300 cities since its launch in 2016. The Tata Group retail company said the brand has served over 100 million customers during the past decade.
Trent disclosed the milestone in a regulatory filing cited on Saturday, describing Zudio’s growth as being driven by its affordable retail proposition. The chain has expanded its presence beyond major metropolitan markets into a wider network of Indian cities, giving the company a large physical retail footprint across the country.
The 1,000-store mark places Zudio at the centre of Trent’s fashion-led expansion strategy. Unlike online-only retail platforms, the chain’s growth depends on establishing stores in urban and regional markets, securing commercial space, and building a network that can serve customers through physical outlets.
Trent’s wider fashion portfolio also includes Westside, its large-format fashion retail brand. As of June 30, 2026, the company had 301 Westside stores and 29 stores across other lifestyle concepts. Together, its fashion brands occupied a footprint of more than 18 million square feet, according to the company’s disclosures.
The figures indicate the scale of organised retail infrastructure being created by Trent across Indian cities. The store network includes both the newer Zudio format and the company’s established Westside operations, with the combined footprint spread across a range of retail locations. The filing did not provide a city-wise breakdown of Zudio stores or details of the property arrangements supporting the expansion.
Trent also operates Star, its grocery business, alongside its fashion brands. The company reported revenue of ₹19,701.41 crore in FY26. The Zudio milestone comes as part of Trent’s broader retail operations, although the disclosure did not separately state Zudio’s revenue or profitability.
The company said Zudio was launched in 2016 and has since grown to more than 100 million customers. Its latest store count and geographic reach establish the chain as one of Trent’s largest retail expansion platforms. Further details on new store openings, investment plans or the next phase of expansion were not included in the information disclosed.
