Ulhasnagar property tax defaulters can receive up to 100% waiver on delayed-payment penalties under a three-phase scheme announced by the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation for the 2026 Ganeshotsav period.
The municipal corporation announced the Shri Ganeshotsav 2026 special concession scheme on September 10 through a press release issued by its information and public relations department. The scheme is intended to accelerate recovery of outstanding property tax while reducing the burden of penalty interest on residents.
Under the first phase, property owners who pay their entire outstanding property tax along with the current year’s tax in a single payment between September 12 and September 20 will receive a 100% waiver on the delayed-payment penalty charged on their arrears.
The second phase will run from September 21 to September 28. During this period, property owners must pay the full outstanding tax and current tax, along with 25% of the applicable penalty, in a single payment. The remaining 75% of the penalty will be waived by the corporation.
The third phase will operate from September 29 to October 5. Property owners who pay their arrears, current tax and 50% of the applicable penalty in one instalment will receive a waiver on the remaining 50% of the penalty.
The corporation has divided the scheme into three stages so that residents who clear their dues earlier receive the largest concession. The waiver applies to the delayed-payment penalty, not to the outstanding property tax or the current tax payable, according to the details released by the civic administration.
Prajakta Kulkarni, the municipal corporation’s public relations officer, appealed to property tax defaulters across the city to take advantage of the scheme. The administration also urged residents to pay their outstanding property tax on time and contribute to the corporation’s development work.
The scheme comes as the civic body seeks to improve property tax collection while offering relief to residents facing accumulated penalty charges. The first payment window will open on September 12 and close on September 20, followed by the second and third windows ending on September 28 and October 5, respectively.
