Delhi Division train cancellations and operational changes will affect around 120 services between September 11 and 13, with several Rajdhani, Tejas Rajdhani, Vande Bharat, long-distance, EMU and MEMU trains either cancelled, diverted, rescheduled, regulated or shifted to different terminals.
Northern Railway has introduced the changes for operational reasons under a train-handling plan for the three-day period. The adjustments affect services linked to New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Palwal, Delhi Shahdara and Hazrat Nizamuddin. Passengers have been advised to check their train’s latest status before leaving for the station.
Several major Rajdhani services will run on diverted routes. These include trains connecting New Delhi with Ranchi, Dibrugarh, Sealdah, Howrah and Bhubaneswar. The Sampoorna Kranti Express and some EMU services will also be affected. Palwal-Shakur Basti, Ghaziabad-New Delhi, New Delhi-Palwal Ladies and Delhi Junction-Shamli EMU services are among those listed for cancellation.
Several trains scheduled to depart on September 11 will also leave later than planned. The New Delhi-Hyderabad Express and Grand Trunk Express are listed for rescheduling by 120 minutes, while the Paschim Express is scheduled to depart 90 minutes late. Other services, including Tejas Rajdhani, Rajendra Nagar Tejas Rajdhani and Purva Express, are also subject to delayed departures or operational regulation.
The changes continue on September 12. A number of Ghaziabad-New Delhi, New Delhi-Ghaziabad and Delhi Junction-linked local services will be cancelled. The Palwal-Shakur Basti EMU is listed as cancelled in connection with RLDA work at Faridabad. Gomti Express, Shramjeevi Express, Sealdah Rajdhani, Howrah Rajdhani, Vaishali Express and Magadh Express are among the services scheduled to use diverted routes. A Vande Bharat service will be regulated by 35 minutes, according to the published operational plan.
The September 13 schedule includes further cancellations affecting EMU services between Palwal, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad and Delhi Junction. Shiv Ganga Express, the Saharanpur-Delhi Junction passenger service, the Meerut Cantt-Sri Ganganagar Special and selected EMU services are listed for diversion. Some trains will start or end at alternate stations: the Mathura-New Delhi EMU will terminate at Palwal, the Palwal-New Delhi EMU at Hazrat Nizamuddin, and the Bulandshahr-Tilak Bridge MEMU at Delhi Shahdara.
Passengers travelling during the affected period should verify the train number, route, departure time and originating or terminating station rather than relying only on their ticket. Northern Railway’s operational plan is scheduled to remain in force through September 13, although further changes may be issued.
