Delhi National Lok Adalat Moved to Oct 10; Challan Downloads From Oct 5

The Delhi National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12 has been postponed to October 10, with eligible traffic violators able to download challan slips from the Delhi Traffic Police website starting October 5, according to a notification issued by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA).

The postponement follows a Delhi High Court notification declaring September 12, the second Saturday of the month, as a court sitting day. The Lok Adalat will now be held across Delhi’s district court complexes, including Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue.

It will also be organised at the Delhi High Court, Debt Recovery Tribunals, Permanent Lok Adalats and consumer dispute redressal commissions. The process is intended to facilitate the amicable settlement of civil and criminal compoundable cases.

Litigants and other parties have been advised to contact the concerned court, forum or tribunal at the earliest to have their cases listed for the revised date. For pre-litigation matters, applications may be submitted to the office of the DSLSA member secretary at least seven days before the Lok Adalat.

A separate arrangement will apply to traffic cases. DSLSA said compoundable traffic challans pending on the virtual court portal up to June 30, 2026, will be taken up during the Lok Adalat. Challan slips for these cases can be downloaded from the Delhi Traffic Police website from 10am on October 5.

The download facility will be subject to a daily cap of 50,000 challans and an overall limit of two lakh challans. The notification advised courts, forums, tribunals and other stakeholders to inform litigants and parties about the revised schedule and related procedures.
